Discover Bricklane and Shoreditch.

I made a A5 book of 24 pages that opens from both sides. I put on the cover an old map from Shoreditch that I printed. That map is made by Adam Dant and it’s called Map of Industrious Shoreditch (1912). It shows the area a century before the new industries, where there were the old ones. Small manufacturers and their suppliers occupied every building and the neighborhood teemed with skilled workers and craftsmen.

The places that I chose for my map are the following:

  • The Bricklane Gallery
  • The Annexe Gallery
  • The old Truman Brewery
  • Cowling and Wilcox art supplies
  • Electric Cinema
  • Shoreditch Town Hall
  • Columbia Road Flower Market
  • This Shop Rocks – Antique shop.

On the last page of side two I glued a modern map of the area folded in half.

The cover:

I made an envelope as well to place it inside.
